Last month, our testers were busy trying out the best bras for A-C cup, as recommended by boobydoo, the UK’s biggest sports bra retailer. This month, we asked the team at boobydoo to send over their recommendations for D-F cup and we recruited our team of bigger-busted testers to put these bras through their paces. Here were the three bras that scored the highest in our tests.
They say: Featuring an Infinity-8 system that reduces breast movement by 78%, this high-impact bra is designed to keep everything in place on all levels of run – be it a gentle jog in the park or a marathon. With a traditional hook-and-eye back fastening and upper snap clip across the racerback – designed to keep the straps firmly in place – a tailored and secure fit is offered. The straps are wide and padded, too, to stop any slippage and the cups are soft and seamless to reduce chafing. It’s also made from a moisture-wicking fabric to help keep you cool and dry. The cups on the Run Bra give full coverage and come up a bit higher than most, in order to evenly distribute support, also aided by the clip at the back, which distributes support across the back and shoulders.
Our tester says: Our tester’s first thought upon opening the package from boobydoo was that she loved the bright and bold pink colour of the bra and its purple trim. Her second thought? How is she going to get it on! With a clasp at the back and below the neck, our tester feared it would be a two-man job to “hoist her in”. However, she was pleased to find she got it on quick, sharp and without injury! The material is thick and comfortable and the adjustable straps worked well for her 38D frame. When put under pressure, our tester found that her breasts did not wobble one bit, and felt well supported without being restricted. She said: “Like men, a good sports bra is hard to find so I would recommend this bra for anyone looking for heavy-duty support and comfort.”

They say: Designed for all sorts of high-impact activity, from running to trampolining, you can expect high support from this best-selling bra. The cups are moulded and padded for maximum coverage and comfort, and the adjustable, padded straps provide extra support at the shoulders, while allowing you to get the fit just right. It’s constructed from a fast-drying fabric, which works to wick moisture and excess heat away from the skin, and the mesh lining and partial mesh inserts also help to assist with moisture management and heat control by providing ventilation.
Our tester says: Our 36D tester has tried a range of sports bras over the years but has predominantly purchased these from supermarkets. On first impressions, she wasn’t overly impressed with the bra’s look and style. She said: “I’ll be honest, this isn’t for the fashion conscious down at the gym as it resembles an old-style maternity bra.” However, upon testing the bra’s functionality over a series of 5-10K runs and also while doing HIIT session in the garden, our tester was extremely impressed with the bra’s high-impact support, which soon made up for any concerns around the bra’s aesthetic. She commented: “I have never felt more supported as the wide straps distributed support across the shoulders, and the structured shaped also helped keep back fat at bay!” Although she commented that the bra is more expensive than its supermarket counterparts, for the support and comfort it provided, our tester definitely felt it was worth the higher price point.

They say: Described by boodydoo as the ideal solution for those runners who fail to get the necessary support from their sports bra, therefore doubling up and wearing two bras at a time, this underwired bra is designed to give maximum support. Encapsulated cups support each breast individually, assisted by the wide, padded straps. With smooth, flat seams the bra offers a comfortable fit, alongside coverage under clothing, while the moisture-wicking stretch fabric provides breathability and temperature control. It also has a cushioned, three-columned, three-row hook-and-eye back closure for robust support and a bespoke fit, assisted by the adjustable stretch straps.
Our tester says: Our 40E tester felt a little hesitant to try out an underwired sports bra. However, she loved the shape it gave her chest, while also being highly supportive – “No more squashed monoboob!” The straps are slightly wider and padded over the shoulders, which our tester found provided extra comfort and decreased strain. There is also a nifty clip, which can transform the straps into a racerback, meaning it can be worn with any top. For our tester, it definitely ticked all the boxes as a larger-chested runner.”
