Well done to everyone who took part in our 10K event at Strathclyde Park, Glasgow today. We now have a new course record! Mum of five, Fiona Matheson, who is over 50, was the race winner and set a new 10K record of 35:39, which makes her the fastest ever 10K runner across our entire race series! Well done Fiona! (See our video interview with Fiona at the bottom of this page.) The busy mum, who also works full-time in the NHS, told us that the best way to improve as a runner is to commit to your goals. ‘If you only commit 50 per cent, you only get 50 per cent of the results you could have achieved,’ she told us. Despite being super fast though, Fiona says that running is for everyone at whatever level and that we can also achieve massive benefits from doing it, both mentally and physically.

In second place was Angela Irving, who completed the race in 40:06 and in third place was Deborah Comer, who achieved an impressive time of 40:52.

Local lady Elaine Ramsay, who is the general manager of local gym Time Fitness and a personal trainer, not only led the pre-race warm-up but also ran in the event and achieved a personal best of 49:24.
