One of London’s most celebrated parks, Finsbury is a beautifully green and scenic spot amongst London’s urban backdrop. The Finsbury Park races were the biggest events in both our 2013 and 2014 Race Series’ and response from runners was that they loved the venue and wanted to race there more often.
Finsbury Park promises a lively, fun and supportive atmosphere.
Here are some of the comments from last year’s racers:
‘I felt so nervous… but the whole atmosphere was so positive. Everyone’s support on the day made it really memorable.’ – Charlotte Liddell
‘There was a great atmosphere!’ – Celina Smith
‘Great race today and fantastic atmosphere at Finsbury Park.’ – Nikki Fairbairn
Running for Alzheimer’s Society
This year, our leading charity race partner is Alzheimer’s Society. Many people know someone affected by dementia. The society reveals that 850,000 people in the UK will have a form of dementia by 2015 and in less than ten years, this will grow to over a million people. Working to find a cure for this debilitating disease but also to support those living with the condition, the society relies on charity funding to make this happen and we’re absolutely thrilled to be able to help raise funds for the charity through the Series.
This year there will also be a 5K option in association with This Girl Can – perfect for those running their first mass-participated event.
Both 5K and 10K courses have a flat terrain, the 10K course taking in two scenic laps around the park and the 5K, a one-lap route. Click here to see a course map.
All entrants will receive a free goody bag, filled with quality kit and nutritional goods and finishers will receive an event t-shirt and medal for their achievements.
A range of pacers will also be there on the day, covering 50 minutes, 55 minutes, 60 minutes and 70 minutes to help you to achieve your goals. You can meet the pacers here.
Entries for the WR10K Finsbury Park event on 7 June are now closed, but if you want to know how the first Finsbury Park race went click here to read all the information in our race report.
