#YourRuns Pictures of the Week (6th March-13th March)

International Women's Day, spring runs and race bling

Thanks to everyone who tagged us in #YourRuns this week! As some of you will know, we had our first ever virtual race in celebration of International Women’s Day. Hundreds of people entered, ran and raised money for the incredible women’s rights organisation Womankind and we could not be more grateful to all those who took part. A special thank you to everyone who hared photo’s of their runs and medals! We love seeing and sharing running photo’s of all kinds from breathtaking trail views to breathless track sprints, from lacing up your running shoes to hanging up your running medals and everything in-between. So if you’ve got a running photo you’d like us to share, use the #yourruns hashtag on Twitter or Instagram or tag us @Womensrunninguk. Our absolute favourite running pictures will end up in the mag – so you never know who you might inspire. Happy running everyone!

Yes. I was that girl with the sparkly ✨ sweat pants, bright pink lipstick & I def was swishing my lilac hair from side to side as I mouthed the words to my fav pop song 🎤 💁🏼 I embraced my #femininity, as I pounded those pavements hard & fast… 👟👟 Today I ran for #WRVirtualRun to show that I care about equality. 👫 I run because I love the peace, I run because it makes me happy… I run because I LOVE & because I care. I run for myself, I run for Aaron, & I run for Cancer. ❌ I run because I am strong, I run because I'm independent, & I'll keep on running because life wouldn't be the same without it. 🏃🏼‍♀️ I run because I love ice cream 🍦 I run because I want muscles & DAMN I run because I want to look good naked 👙 BUT most of all, I run because I CAN. 🙌🏻 It is #InternationalWomensDay Let's own it, ALL of us; unite & celebrate one another's successes. Show the world what we're made of!! 🌎💃🏻 – – #runnergirl #womenshistorymonth #fitnessblogger #training #thoughts #thinking #marathontraining #gymfreaks #womensrunninguk #unite #women #strongwomen #nikeapp #life #quotes #girlierunner #womenempowerment #runningworld

So my last half for my training has ended as all the rest are 20 milers+, unfortunately ended on a bit of a bad note. I felt like I came down with something before the race, and during so I really wasn't feeling great. What has been described as a flat run definitely wasn't flat, there were quite a few hills in there – especially the hill into the finish. Sorry to my family who saw me cry, miles 11-12 were not my favourite. I will not end this on a bad note though, the route was longer than 13.1 mile and again I came in only 1/2 minutes off of my PB, it was a warm day, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, this is definitely one of the best half's I've done for atmosphere and in total I managed 17 miles!!! So there is good in a bad run! Thank you to everyone who came out today, it was lovely to have some of the family together! @amiensmith well done on your first half, you did amazing! #vitalitybathhalf #vitalityseries #bathhalf #bathhalfmarathon #girlsruntheworld #girlswhorun #running #runhappy #runnergirl #runlikeagirl #thisgirlcan #thisgirlcanrun #thisgirlcanrunning #z2h #redwayrunnersz2h #irunthisbody #ihavearunnersbody #yourrun #yourruns #womensrunning #womensrunninguk #womensrunningcommunity

SPRING has arrived in London!! Although there was a clear lack of spring in my legs today. You know those runs where you get to a busy road and think oooh I can have a little rest here while I wait for a gap in the traffic. And then every flippin' car stops to let you cross. Not even giving you enough time to hit pause on the Garmin 😫 – – – – Good news is I clocked up 31 miles this week. Not bad for me, especially considering it's the 2nd week after the marathon. #happydays . . . . . #spring #daffodils #richmondpark #happyrunner #nbleadville #newbalance #ultramarathontraining #marathontraining #halfmarathontraining #running #runnersworld #runnersofinstagram #getoutside #getoutsideandplay #trailrunning #trailshoes #womensrunningcommunity #runspiration #runtastic #Tokyomarathon2017 #RaceToTheStones2017 #RTTS #runtheworld #yourruns #muddyruns

*Bath Half Done* Delightful first half, painful second. Had an agonising stitch at mile 7, that I breathed through anf carried on (I haven't had one for years, I blame the jelly baby!) and at mile 11 my hip gave out. I thought I wouldn't be able to carry on but I did (slowly) and managed a time of 2hr 26. I also cried when I crossed the finish line. . . Thank you to all of you for you messages of support and donations, and to my Mum and Claire for coming to cheer me on. In total, I've raised £410 so far for @macmillancancer and I've smashed my target. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. 😘 . . Adam, my love, this one is for you ❤ . . #running #runner #run #runningfamily #runnerscommunity #womensrunningcommunity #womensrunninguk #inspiringwomenrunners #irunthisbody #womenrunning #thisgirlcan #thisgirlcanrun #girlswhorun #bathhalf #halfmarathon #bathhalf2017 #fitnessjourney #fitfam #runchat #InstaRunners #RunShots #runplanet #stravarun #runnersofinstagram #igrunners #macmillancancersupport

“Completed a 5K and beat my PB…love my medal!!”

“I’m a nurse, and I started a challenging and demanding new job this week as a paediatric theatre nurse. But in the middle of all the craziness that comes with that, plus bike commuting and regular family life, I still managed to squeeze in a 5k run on International Women’s Day.

I’m very proud of my lovely medal, which was waiting for me when I got home on Friday evening at the end of my first week – it will always remind me of starting my new job.”
