Where do we sign up?! This marathon in the south of France is a 26-mile party, where you can drink fine wine and eat oysters along the way.

The Marathon du Medoc is a winding course through French vineyards, dotted with food, drink and parties. Each wine stop comes complete with live orchestral music, so expect the full fine-dining experience in this unique race!

This year, thousands of runners will don their best fancy dress and take part in this festival of the comestible, enjoying a smorgasbord of French food and wine along the 26-mile stretch. The only requirement is that runners complete the course in under 6.5 hours, so you’ll have to knock that wine back relatively quickly!

The celebrations aren’t just limited to the day of the marathon itself – if you fancy a cooperative carb load the night before, thousands of participants meet at a local chateau the night before to eat copious amounts of pasta and drink, no surprises here, the best French wine.
